Stefan Bradu, MD, PhD

Dr. Bradu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (2005,2014) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has an outstanding experience in the practice of advanced Medical, Aesthetic and Surgical Dermatology.Dr. Bradu takes particular pride in teaching Clinical Dermatology to the Dermatology residents from New York University School of Medicine and SUNY-Downstate Medical School, his alma mater. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at both institutions. Dr. Bradu received the "Part-Time Attending of the Year" Awards in 2014 and 2021 from the New York University Dermatology Residents "in appreciation of outstanding teaching and selfless dedication" at the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System.
Dr. Bradu has a solid and extensive background in a wide variety of dermatological treatments and procedures, and frequently attends advanced courses and professional meetings to offer his patients access to the most advanced dermatologic care that is available for both common and rare conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Dr. Bradu is a leading expert in the field of cosmetic dermatology, more precisely in facial analysis, modulation and optimization with procedures like Botox and fillers such as Juvederm, Belotero and Restylane.
He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from SUNY-Downstate Medical Center (BA/MD Honors Program). Dr. Bradu completed his Medicine internship at Winthrop University Hospital, and was fortunate to have outstanding Dermatology teachers during his Dermatology residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center.
He has practiced Dermatology in Long Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. His medical approach to patients was profoundly influenced by the main principle guiding health care in the hospital where he completed his Medical Internship (Winthrop Hospital, Long Island): "Care without compromise". His caring, polite, professional and competent staff adheres to his principle of treating patients with the same compassion, care and respect as we would treat our own parents, grandparents, siblings, and children.
Dr. Bradu holds a PhD in Anatomy and Molecular Cell Biology and patent applications with promising implications for the diagnosis and treatment of human cancer. He collaborated during his research with various prestigious medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotech institutions. His research was recognized with the William Montagna Award for Research Excellence in Cutaneous Biology (2001) and the 2nd Prize at the New York Academy of Medicine Research Night (Section on Dermatology, 2004).
Dr. Bradu presented his clinical and scientific work at regional and international conferences. The focus of his research has been on the development and testing of anti-cancer, anti-aging and anti-oxidant agents and technologies. His most current research interests include the development of new methods to modulate and optimize personal facial expressions of human mental states with minimally invasive aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Bradu's credentials and awards reveal that he is a well-qualified, responsible, and skilled dermatologist, but they will not tell you enough about his main strengths: taking excellent care of his patients while remaining kind, approachable, emphatic, sharp and wise in the face of adversity. Hippocrates best summarized Dr. Bradu's philosophy of patient care in 400 BC: "Wherever the art of medicine is respected, there is also respect for humanity".
By perfecting highly individualized patient care and elevating the art of practicing dermatology to better human, aesthetic, clinical and scientific levels, Dr. Bradu is hoping to bring to his patients well-deserved health, better quality of life, well-being and happiness.
